Competition Process
The competition process provides a timeline of what to expect while the award is open.
Early Submission (May 20. to June 30.)
Standard Submission (July 1. to August 14.)
Late Submission (August 15. to September 20.)
Awarding Ceremony
In November
In about 50 categories, manufacturers and designers can innovate in the competition. According to the motto of "looking for good design and innovation", the jury will evaluate the entries and only award the New Zealand Best Design Award to those products that have won their favor by virtue of their high design quality.
Entry rules
The New Zealand Best Design Award: Product Design is open to manufacturers and designers from all over the world whose products are manufactured using an industrial production process.
Judging Criteria
• Innovation performance: whether the product design concept is innovative, or is based on the existing product quality and innovation extension
• Ergonomics: whether the product is suitable for the user's physical body structure and mental conditions
• Function: Whether the product design concept meets all requirements in terms of practicality, ease of operation, safety and maintenance. Whether the product has an easy-to-understand user manual
• Durability: whether the material, form and immaterial value of the product will enable it to be used for a long time
• Shape quality: whether the appearance of the product design is pleasing to the eye
• Environmental protection: whether the material, material cost, manufacturing technology and energy consumption of the product are controlled in an appropriate proportion under the condition of ensuring the use performance of the product. Whether product handling and recycling issues have been considered.

Explanation Rights Of Judging
Based on the principle of fairness, impartiality and openness, the New Zealand Best Design Award Organising Committee will announce the competition schedule and the final award results on the official website and related communication.
The organizing committee has the final right of interpretation and adjudication for this activity. If there is any dispute about the works, please call the organizing committee to report it and provide relevant evidence (such as documents related to plagiarism). Once it is verified, the qualification, certificates and trophies of winners will be cancelled.
Organiser's Rights
Have the right to adjust the number of awards, cancel or add awards according to the actual situation of the competition schedule; All entries and winning entries enjoy the right to display.
